Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a medical procedure which involves the use of a flexible tube with a light and camera to examine the internal organs. It is commonly used to diagnose and treat conditions of the digestive system like gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcers, tumours, etc. Indications for endoscopy may include persistent upper abdominal pain or burning, acidity, difficult in swallowing, vomiting after meals, anaemia (drop in haemoglobin), unexplained weight loss, etc. Treatment options vary depending on the findings, ranging from medications for minor issues to surgical interventions for more serious conditions.
