Endoscopy is a medical procedure which involves the use of a flexible tube with a light and camera to examine the internal organs. It is commonly used to diagnose and treat conditions of the digestive system like gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcers, and tumours. Indications for endoscopy may include persistent upper abdominal pain or burning, acidity, difficulty in swallowing, vomiting after meals, anaemia, and unexplained weight loss.
